‘Forgot We Had Him’ ‘In Time For The Transfer Window, £10M And We Are Good’ Fans React As United Outcast Returns To Training

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has been pictured back out on the training pitch at Carrington.

The Dutchman has been sidelined since the beginning of January when he picked up a knee injury in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

Ironically, the Red Devils are set to face the Cherries in the reverse fixture this weekend, although van de Beek is unlikely to be involved due to the length of time he has been sidelined for. Supporters on Twitter welcomed the 26-year-old back to the fold, although most expect him to be offloaded by the club this summer:

Van de Beek has had a very unhappy three years in Manchester. He was brought in from Ajax for an initial £35m in the summer of 2020, but he was never really given a long run in the starting lineup.

To get game time, he was sent out on loan to Everton for the second half of last season but injuries prevented him from making the sort of impact he would have liked.

The appointment of his former Ajax boss, Erik ten Hag, was billed as a fresh start for van de Beek but, unfortunately, fitness problems have reared their ugly head once again.
