The defeats to Wolves and Arsenal have shone a new light on the weaknesses in United’s squad.
One journalist feels that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need to sign at least four players to strengthen his side in the summer:
Solskjaer is a victim of his own success in that he has raised expectations. Obviously still deserves the job but #mufc maybe needed a wobble to better judge him and the squad. There’s been a misconception of ‘only needing two or three players’. United need four signings minimum.

Fans on Twitter believe there could be an even bigger clearout in the summer:
Five Minimum

11 will do

Massive rebuild to be made probably 2 year job minimum. The board have to get fully behind ole When/If he gets the job full time. Need a whole new spine to our team to begin..

I’d say 6 minimum, the past two performances have shown how mediocre the squad is despite recent results

Need someone to dictate the game in midfield from deep, a right winger and a centre back anything else would be nice, wobble was inevitable having to rush players back etc he’s still done amazing the difference in style alone

Other supporters believe there shouldn’t such a kneejerk reaction after two losses in a row:
It’s been 2 loses..yes utd weren’t good against Wolves and Arsenal beat us..but let’s not get carried away with thinking they’ve misjudged him..

He needs a few Players, That much is True @samuelluckhurst but Ole didn’t want to jump in and Buy loads of Players and wanted to work with what he had first, trouble was that the Mood at the Club changed instantly…

The bulk of this squad managed to finish second in the Premier League last season, but there are some obvious areas that requiring strengthening.
Another creative midfielder to compliment Paul Pogba in central midfield would certainly be welcome, while a commanding centre-back with leadership qualities will likely be a priority.
In other areas, a competitor for Luke Shaw at left-back will be eyed, and if Alexis Sanchez is offloaded, another wide player would also be required.
Other than that, Solskjaer may want to give chances to youth players as he has already done so during his brief time in charge. He won’t want to block routes to first-team football for youngsters by bringing in a boatload of new players.
