FIVE Barcelona Players Likely To Leave The Camp Nou This Summer (And Which PL Clubs They Could Join)

Barcelona are undergoing a firesale at the moment, with president Joan Laporta keen on getting the spiralling wage bill under control to ensure they don’t fall foul of La Liga’s salary cap.

Junior Firpo (Leeds) and Francisco Trincao (Wolves) have already finalised moves away from Barca to the Premier League this summer but there are a number of other players who are available for transfer.

We have compiled a list of five Barcelona players who are likely to leave the Camp Nou and we assess whether they could end up playing in English football.

Press the next page as we go through which stars we might see plying their trade in the Premier League next season.

Miralem Pjanic

It is believed the Bosnian has been given permission to speak to other clubs with Barcelona open to offloading the 31-year-old on a season-long loan.

Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been mentioned as potential suitors for Pjanic, although the player himself is believed to be keen on a return to Juventus.

Philippe Coutinho

Some reports in the Catalan media suggest that the Brazilian international could be available for only €20m (£17m) as Barca look to get him off the club’s wage bill.

Everton, Arsenal and Liverpool have been the teams most heavily linked but Coutinho is unlikely to be moving anytime soon, as he is still undergoing rehabilitation following knee surgery.

Ousmane Dembele

The Frenchman has one year remaining on his contract at the Camp Nou and he has, so far, been reluctant to sign a new deal, prompting reports that the winger could be sold for €50m (£43m) to €60m (£51.6m).

However, despite Dembele being heavily linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, he is not expected to move teams after the player suffered a knee injury at Euro 2020 that will keep him out for several months. A Bosman free transfer next summer is looking more likely.

Martin Braithwaite

The Danish international was very impressive playing for his country at the European Championships but he has been deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona.

A number of teams across Europe are reportedly keeping tabs on Braithwaite, including West Ham, Burnley, Brighton and Norwich City.

Antoine Griezmann

Although the Frenchman scored 20 goals in all competitions for Barca last campaign, the forward is thought to be available for transfer. The need to reduce the wage bill, combined with the La Liga club’s attempts to keep Lionel Messi, mean Griezmann could be sacrificed.

Some reports suggest that the player’s agent will be in London this week for talks with Premier League sides. Chelsea and Manchester City are the two teams who are said to have the most interest in the player.
