New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to reports in the UK.
There have been some question marks about the France international’s form this season and some have suggested that the midfielder could now be in decline at the age of 31.
However, it is believed that ten Hag feels Kante still has the ability to make a big difference in United’s midfield, and with the player having only a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, it is felt he could be a realistic target. Fans on Twitter are very much split on whether the Frenchman would be a good signing:
Nah Kante is finished player. Really not worth it

Kante will be a good buy, considering we are gonna have more young players and new comers in our starting 11 next season, we'll need someone with experience, someone the youth and other pros will look up to, and kante is the man for the Job.

He’s better than what we have but he’s also on the down now, will show we’ve learnt nothing, need to be signing young and hungry players

Will be a good signing, need him more than De Jong(he is not coming to united anyway).

Why do we keep taking players that are at the end of their careers. We need something to build around, get a bond, and add the odd player to keep pushing on. We need to spend wisely, no quick fixes

An actual DREAM signing

Tchouameni is available and we're choosing Kante over him for what in particular.

It must be said that Kante has never shown any interest in leaving Chelsea. It has been reported that he has turned down offers from Paris Saint-Germain on more than one occasion.
While Kante’s current deal does expire in 2023, you do suspect that the Blues’ new owners will be looking to offer the player a contract extension as soon as possible.
