Manchester United have drawn up a four-man shortlist of players they want to sign in the summer, according to reports in the English media.
Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic, Atletico Madrid fullback Lucas Hernandez and Juventus winger Douglas Costa are all on the club’s radar.
Most fans on Twitter would back moves for the four players in question:

Big big news! Glad that Woodward now knows that we’re a level below Europe ‘s top clubs.

Douglas Costa and Koulibaly in #MUFC current squad means a premier league title! However I am sure Ed Woodward has another plan to destroy our hopes of the 21st title !

However, some don’t feel that Costa, in particular, would be a good signing for United:
Both Hernandez and Milenkovic have to be signed as top level competition for Shaw and Dalot. As for Costa, Sancho is a better prospect than him.

Trust me we don’t need Douglas C
He won’t fit into the Utd style of play— Dnanidref .MUFC (@Dnanidref5) 14 February 2019

Whether United have actually drawn up a list of transfer targets, it is debatable. Scouts have likely identified some of these players as possible recruits but everything is up in the air until a permanent manager is confirmed.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promised the squad will be strengthened but if a Director of Football is also appointed, it could also affect the club’s transfer strategy going forward. United fans will need to be patient to see what happens in the summer.
