Father Of Chelsea Teenage Prodigy Reveals Player Idolises Current Manchester United Star

Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos models his game on Manchester United’s Casemiro, according to the player’s father.

The 18-year-old made the move to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, but he returned on loan to Vasco da Gama earlier this month. His lack of experience hasn’t prevented him from being called up by Brazil for their friendly against Morocco on Saturday, and he could well line up alongside Casemiro. Santos’s father says it would be fitting, considering that he idolises the United star:

“He targets Casemiro a lot. It’s part of his position. Possibly they can play together for a few minutes there.”

Although he is expected to play for Brazil this weekend, Casemiro is currently suspended at club level, having been sent off against Southampton.

As it was the 31-year-old’s second red card of the season, he was given a four-match ban. Having sat out the FA Cup quarter-final win against Fulham, Casemiro will also be missing when United take on Newcastle, Brentford and Everton after the international break.
