The news that Alexis Sanchez became a Manchester United player came as music to the ears of the fans at Old Trafford.
The Chile international joined the Red Devils in a cash plus player deal earlier this week – a move that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way, and sees Sanchez become the club’s highest paid player in history earning a reported £450,000 per week.
The former Barcelona star arrives at Old Trafford with a big reputation. During his spell at Arsenal, Sanchez scored 80 times in just over 140 appearances, and was the stand-out player at The Emirates during the three-and-a-half seasons he spent in North London.
He also won Arsenal’s Player of the Year in both 2014/15 and 2016/17, and was also named as the PFA Fans POTY in 2015.

Sanchez was heavily rumoured to be on his way to rivals Manchester City after they had previously moved for the forward last summer, however it was United who pipped them to the post, with Sanchez opting to move to Old Trafford in order to fulfil a “childhood dream”.
“Since I was a young lad I’ve always said that my dream was to play for Manchester United, and I’m not just saying that because I’m here now and today it’s come true.” said Sanchez.
“I always said as a kid that I’d like to play for United and I once spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson about it. We chatted for around 20 minutes. And I told him that my dream was to come here to Manchester United.”
