Fabrizio Romano Makes New Claim About United Target’s 75M Release Clause

There is only one release clause in Leeds winger Raphinha’s contract, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United, along with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona have been keeping tabs on the Brazilian international. It was initially believed that there was a buyout fee that would allow a team to sign Raphinha for around £75m, but Romano says that it doesn’t exist. The Italian journalist does claim, however, that the relegation release clause remains active:

Leeds are currently in the drop zone on goal difference and, with Burnley also having a game in hand, the Yorkshire club’s top-flight status is very much in jeopardy.

It means that there is an increasing possibility that Raphinha could be signed for only £25m this summer. With United needing to strengthen their options on the right flank, the 25-year-old could prove to be an excellent signing. Whether the Red Devils can beat off the competition for his signature, though, is another matter.
