Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is expected to sit out England’s Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark next month due to an ankle problem, according to reports in the UK.
It is believed the 22-year-old carried the injury through the closing stages of last season but after a scan on the issue, it has been decided that he needs an extended period of rest to recover full fitness.
Some supporters on Twitter now understand why Rashford finished the season poorly, while others feel it should give United greater impetus to make new signings:
I’m sure that explains his poor form. With Rashford, Martial, Sancho and Greenwood and full form it’s a tweeting thought for our opposition I’m sure! Throw in Pogba, Vd Beek and Bruno behind that. Wow. GGMU

Is that the reason why he was playing rubbish as soon as he came back from the back injury that laid him off, plz if any one is injured the coach should never use him, let’s give chance to some fringe player’s, besides they did well when him and pogba were off

Why did we sign Ighalo in January? Is it for Rashford to play through injury? This does not make any sense.

And people were slating for not doing enough. Those fans who will never know the sacrifice some of this players make and begin to write rubbish about them should cover themselves in shame.

I’d rather he rest anyway than go to internationals, we need him fit for the start of the season

Need forward depth. This should not be the norm

Sancho more than ever

Shows how shocking our depth is… the fact we’ve had players play through injuries and playing when not 100% fit is ridiculous…

And still they can’t get transfers done.

Just stop it and sign new players ed

It is commendable that Rashford wanted to play through the pain barrier but it does also expose the lack of depth the Red Devils have in the front three.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is crying out for more options up front and if they can’t get a deal for Jadon Sancho over the line, it is hoped that they tie up the transfer for an alternative target in the coming weeks.
