Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho was pictured in a protective boot and on crutches following the 0-0 draw against Southampton on Sunday.
The Argentine came on as a substitute for the last fifteen minutes but he didn’t see out the game after a poor challenge from Saints fullback Kyle Walker-Peters.
Supporters on Twitter are worried that Garnacho could be out for the long term, while others are angry that Walker-Peters wasn’t punished for his tackle:
Everything is going wrong for us at the wrong part of the season i hate this game

The second time a scissor tackle injured one of our players this season. The second time such a tackle wasn’t punished. But we’re making it up 😒😒

Just what we, and Garnacho, didn't need. Hope it's just a precaution.

The early signs don’t look good for Garnacho. The teenager will need to undergo scans on his ankle to determine the seriousness of the injury but he is likely to be out for a number of weeks.
It is a big blow for United but it will be an even tougher setback for the player, considering he has been called up by Argentina for the games against Panama and Curacap later this month. He may well have to pull out of international duty.
