‘Every Chance Things Could Change’ Luckhurst Claims United’s Move For 34M Rated Ligue One Star Is Far From Dead

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga are still alive, despite the Frenchman preferring a move to La Liga, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst.

The Red Devils have held talks about signing the Frenchman in recent weeks but, even though the player has set his sights on a transfer to Spain, the fact that the likes of Real Madrid can’t spend large sums on players currently could play into the Manchester club’s hands:

Luckhurst’s remarks are rather optimistic. While Rennes will be determined to sell Camavinga this summer to prevent him from leaving for nothing, there is nothing stopping the player from running down his contract and getting a free transfer to his preferred club next year.

Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all said to be in the mix, along with United, so we shall see what happens if one of these teams matches the teenager’s €40m (£34m) asking price in the coming weeks.
