Everton V Manchester United: Preview And Betting Odds

Manchester United are riding high after an emphatic 5-0 win over Club Brugge midweek, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won’t need reminding what happened last time they faced their next opponents, Everton, at Goodison Park.

The 4-0 defeat was a low point and Solskjaer will be determined to put that right with a much-improved display when they kickoff against the Toffees on Sunday afternoon.

In terms of team news, United could be without Anthony Martial after the Frenchman picked up a thigh injury in training this week. He failed a fitness test ahead of the victory against Brugge. Axel Tuanzebe (hamstring), Lee Grant (surgery), Marcus Rashford (back) and Timothy Fosu-Mensah all remain out of contention.

There is, however, some good news on Paul Pogba with the midfielder reported to be in line for a return to training next week after recovering from a serious ankle injury.

For Everton, manager Carlo Ancelotti is sweating over the fitness of both Lucas Digne (muscular) and Theo Walcott (knee) who are both doubts for this weekend’s game. Jean-Philippe Gbamin (thigh) is still on the treatment table.

The bookmakers have Everton as very slight favourites with Unibet pricing them at 33/20 for the win. A draw is 47/20 with the same bookie, while a United victory is currently 19/10 at Betfred.

Predicted Score – 1-1
