Erik Ten Hag has been backed as the first Premier League manager to get sacked after two consecutive losses.
Manchester United come off the back of a 3-0 defeat to their bitter rivals Liverpool in what was an embarrassing match for the Red Devils who left the pitch to boos from the Old Trafford faithful.
Two mistakes by midfielder Casemiro helped Liverpool to their first two goals from Luis Diaz with a third added by Mo Salah later in the game.
The result has sparked heavy criticism for United boss Erik Ten Hag who managed to survive the sack at the end of last season after he led United to an FA Cup win.
According to Oddschecker, Ten Hag is the favourite to be the first Premier League manager to get sacked at odds of 3/1.
Manchester United Sporting Director Dan Ashworth publicly backed Ten Hag this week via the Athletic, he said: “We think Erik is the right coach for us and we’re fully backing him.
Erik Ten Hag is a narrow favourite over Everton, Chelsea and Southampton bosses
The Manchester United manager tops the bookies’ list of managers to get sacked beating out Everton manager Sean Dyche (5/2) after the Toffees opened with three consecutive losses.
Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca comes after Dyche at 8/1 with Southampton’s Russell Martin following at 14/1. The Chelsea boss will have a tricky test to create harmony in the club as the Blues added 11 new players this summer.
However, with Erik Ten Hag the heavy favourite, the United boss will be desperate to improve following the international break.

Erik Ten Hag equals his worst Premier League start since joining United
Ten Hag has been at United since April 2022 and has had three seasons at Old Trafford, this season equalled the worst of his three.
Last season the Red Devils won two out of their first three games with a 2-0 loss to Spurs holding them from the perfect start. Meanwhile in 2022/23, United lost their first two games including a 4-0 defeat to Brentford.
However, they did beat Liverpool in their third game two seasons ago. Ten Hag’s worst start has been three points from three games, the same as what United have done this season.
