Dortmund Director Claims Haaland Has Already Made A Decision On His Future

Borussia Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl has said that Erling Haaland intends to stay at the Bundesliga club beyond the end of the season.

The Norwegian international is being targeted by Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, with reports suggesting he could be sold for £130m, but Kehl says both the player and the club are not expecting a transfer to happen:

“I understand that Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund in the new season Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say that he completely identifies with the club.”

There has been a lot of talk from Dortmund regarding Haaland’s future recently. A number of officials from the German side have emphasised that they want to keep the 20-year-old despite the strong interest being shown in the player.

However, there is strong evidence to suggest that they will be looking to sell up. A release clause that comes into effect next year will mean they would only receive €75m (£65m), so offloading Haaland this summer will be the smarter choice.

Dortmund are also in danger of missing out on Champions League football, which would force them into balancing the books through player sales. This transfer saga could go on for a while yet.
