Manchester United have made Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde their number one centre-back target ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.
The Frenchman, who has been linked with Manchester City in the past, is thought to be manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s favoured option as the Red Devils look for a long-term partner for captain Harry Maguire.
Kounde is believed to be valued at around £60m by Sevilla, who has excelled since arriving from Bordeaux in the summer of 2019. However, fans on Twitter are sceptical about the source of the story with many seeing it as too good to be true:

Makes perfect sense, therefore it won’t happen

It was also reported back in October that United were keeping tabs on Kounde but it remains to be seen whether they will back up their interest in the 22-year-old with a formal offer at the end of the season.
Solskjaer does have a number of other centre-backs in his squad already but both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo are expected to leave Old Trafford in the near future.
