Manchester United have joined Liverpool and Manchester City in pursuing Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount, according to reports in the UK.
Talks between the 24-year-old and his club over a new contract have stalled and there is an increasing likelihood that the player will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
While there are a few fans on Twitter who would back a move for Mount, the majority don’t believe he would add much to Erik ten Hag’s squad:
Donβt even go there

Mount can play as a winger but his preferred position is as a no.10, and that role is already being filled ably by Bruno Fernandes.
For that reason, it would be a surprise if the Red Devils do actively pursue a move for the England international, even if he does have his admirers among members of the club’s recruitment team.
It is believed that Mount’s preference would be to remain at Chelsea anyway, with any potential departure likely to be down to purely financial reasons. United would, therefore, be wise to steer clear of him.
