Manchester United should consider signing Feyenoord captain Orkun Kokcu, according to former Netherlands manager Dick Advocaat.
The Turkish international has been in impressive form this season and, after watching the Red Devils beat Brighton on penalties in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend, Advocaat said Erik ten Hag’s side could do with a player like Kokcu:
“You can see from everything that he [Kockcu] is important to that team. A very dominant player, he demands everything. I saw Manchester United play [against Brighton] yesterday, they could have done with him.”
United were linked with Kokcu earlier this month. Scouts from the Manchester club were spotted watching Feyenoord in their Dutch Cup semi-final tie against Ajax at the start of April.
It is believed that other Premier League teams, including Tottenham, West Ham, Brighton, Leicester and Brentford were also in the stands as Feyenoord lost 2-1 to their rivals.
Kocku is very much a playmaker and, considering ten Hag already has the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen at his disposal, you do wonder where he would fit in, so we shall have to wait and see whether United do make an approach for the player this summer.
