Di Marzio Claims Club Are Waiting For “Concrete Offer” As United Contemplate Swap Deal For 85M Nigerian Ace

Napoli are anticipating a “concrete offer” from Manchester United which could see Cristiano Ronaldo and Victor Osimhen swapping clubs, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Writing on his personal website, the Sky Sport Italia journalist claims that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is the one trying to engineer the two transfers.

Osimhen is said to be valued in excess of €100m (£85m) by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis so what form the swap deal will take is anyone’s guess.

It’s hard to see United shelling out a nine-figure sum on another forward so soon after agreeing a deal to sign Antony from Ajax.

Ronaldo’s willingness to move back to Italy could reduce costs somewhat but it would still take a sizeable fee to prise Osimhen away from Napoli.

The Nigerian international’s representative Roberto Calenda has already played down the prospect of his client moving to Old Trafford, but Mendes seems to believe a deal can be done.

He has been working hard on getting Ronaldo out of Manchester all summer, having already offered him to the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
