Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele will not leave the Camp Nou this month, even if he doesn’t sign a new contract, according to Cadena Ser.
The Spanish radio station claims that the Frenchman is only considering two options. Putting pen to paper on an extension or leaving on a free transfer for the Premier League next summer.
With Dembele’s agent having gone public with comments criticising Barca in recent days, it does suggest that the 24-year-old is poised for a move to England.
Another Spanish source, Fichajes.net has named Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich as the five favourites for the France international’s signature but his interest in playing in the Premier League means that list could quickly be reduced to three.
A big stumbling block for any club trying to sign Dembele, though, will be his wages. One report claimed that the player was asking for as much as £700,000 a week so we shall see how this transfer plays out.
