‘Definite Starter’ ‘No Need To Risk Him’ Fans Debate United’s Team Selection Following Injury Update

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Edinson Cavani is close to making a comeback from injury but he is still a major doubt ahead of tonight’s game against Sheffield United.

The Uruguayan international did not feature in the 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig last week and was also absent from the stalemate in the Manchester derby on Saturday. Solskjaer believes the player may need more time to recover:

“Edinson has done well in his rehab. We still have to make the decision if we should risk him because it is a little bit to risk him too early. I’d doubt him to be available”

Supporters on Twitter are not so sure they trust Solskjaer’s remarks on Cavani, with some saying he will start at Bramall Lane, while others believing he should not be risked:

With a busy festive period coming up, it would be unwise to take any unnecessary risks with players, as they could miss a sizeable number of games in a short period of time.

Going by what Solskjaer says, it seems the best that United fans can hope for is a place on the bench for Cavani this evening.
