Manchester United have reportedly been put on red-alert after news that David Luiz is considering his future at Chelsea.

The Brazilian has had a fairly high-profile fall out with manager Antonio Conte, who left him out of the squad that beat United earlier in the month.

Conte has not confirmed where Luiz stands with the Chelsea squad since, and it is unclear where his future might be, as well as if the club are willing to sell in January.

Now it is reported that Luiz is open to joining up with former boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, and the Portuguese is open to the idea of signing the versatile defender.

The Daily Star report that Luiz believes his relationship with Conte could be broken beyond repair, and with what happened to Diego Costa not long ago, the same fate could be on its way for the Brazilian.

Of course, Chelsea won’t want Luiz to join a direct Premier League rival and would prefer the star to move abroad. But, with the Blues’ history of selling players to United, perhaps David Luiz will be the latest.

It is not the first time that David Luiz has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but this time it does seem as if there is substance to a potential move.
