Cristiano Ronaldo Mocked For Shameless Instagram Post

Former Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo just cannot stay out of the headlines. This time, however, it’s not for the reasons that he would desire.

Ronaldo recently made his debut for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who he officially signed for on January 1. In that game, Ronaldo failed to score or register an assist, but was greeted favourably by Al-Nassr fans nonetheless.

Despite this, it was Ronaldo’s post-match Instagram post that had people talking. He uploaded a photo gallery, featuring various photos from the game.

One of them shows Ronaldo mid-air, sizing up a potential overhead kick. But – what the photo does not show is the aftermath.

Ronaldo made virtually no connection with the ball as it passed over him, leaving him in an embarrassed heap on the turf. Of course, you wouldn’t know this if you had only seen the photo, which currently has nearly 13 million likes.

Ultimately, despite Ronaldo’s minor faux pas, Al-Nassr came out victorious as they beat Ettifaq by 1-0. Talisca scored the only goal of the game, which came in the 31st minute.

Ronaldo captioned the post: “First game, first win – well done guys. Thanks to all the fans for incredible support.”

It’s safe to say that Ronaldo, despite the win, would have hoped for a more impressive debut. Can he press on and achieve success in Saudi Arabia?
