Cristiano Ronaldo close to joining Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo is close to joining Serie A champions Juventus, according to reports.

Sky Sports report that Real Madrid are close to agreeing a deal with Juve for the transfer of the Portugal international, with an announcement expected to come within the next 24 hours.

The Serie A side are hoping to push through a club-record £88m deal for the 33-year-old that will bring to an end his nine year spell at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo joined Madrid from Manchester United in 2009, and it was widely expected he would re-join his former side should he leave Madrid this summer with Jose Mourinho keen to bring him back to Old Trafford.

However, it now appears any chance of him returning to United this summer now seems to be over.

Ronaldo, who is Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer with 450 to his name, has won two La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and four Champions League crowns during his time with the club.
