Could Some Current Players Be On The Move?

The end of the season is getting closer and closer. Apparently several players brought in since Sir Alex Ferguson left will be put up for sale with some already looking for a new club. According to the Mirror, the transfer price will not be an impediment as the Devils are expected to lose money. They overpaid and now they need to change things as there is no point in keeping players who are still struggling to acclimatise or who simply have trouble handling the intensity of the Premier League. Looking at the lot there are a few names there which might not be present on any of next year’s game sheets.

If rumors are true, the first to leave could be Marcos Rojo. The Argentinian defender, although deemed as one of the best defenders in the world, has looked very good at points but just as he has reached top form he has frequently suffered an injury, stalling his progress and this has happened a number of times sadly.  His versatility and offensive game style should be enough to convince the management he needs to stay. In his 2 years spent in Manchester, Rojo has made just 45 appearances. The reason behind such low numbers of course is that he spent almost a full year recovering from various injuries.

Another player who might be sold is Antonio Valencia. The 30-year-old Ecuadorian will be entering his last year of contract starting 30th of June. Even though he has the option to extend his stay with one more year, and he is just about recovered from a bad injury, he may choose to move on or stay and fight for his place and offer some good back up on the right side either in defence or attack.

Michael Carrick could move on. His contract is ending in June and chances are up in the air as to whether he will be offered an extension. West Ham could be a possible destination as it is the place where Carrick started his career but given his form and experience plus the fact that LVG seems to like him and we could very well see him stay another year.
