Could Danny Rose be on his way to United?

Tottenham defender Danny Rose has dropped a huge hint about his future at the club. In an interview with The Sun, the left-back admitted that time is running out for him to win trophies, saying he wants to “play up north” in the future.

The 27-year-old, who is widely believed to be the best left-back in the Premier League, has four years remaining on his current Spurs deal. However, he has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, who are said to be in the market for cover at full-back.

Rose admits he would not ask for a move away from White Hart Lane, but says he would be willing to talk to Tottenham’s hierarchy if an offer was on the table for him.

“I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me,” Rose told The Sun.

“Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I don’t want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal. Sorry, that’s not what I am about. I wouldn’t be happy with that. I want to win something.”

“I will say this too, I will play up north. I don’t know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I have been away for over 10 years now and I don’t get to see my mum that often.”

“I’m not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I’d have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club.”

United would do well to sign a player with Rose’s capabilities. Signing the England international would provide Mourinho with one of the best left-back’s in the world, and a player that could pave the way for Luke Shaw to eventually make the position his own.
