‘Contacts Have Been Established’ As United Enter Battle For Chelsea Star

Manchester United have contacted Chelsea winger Willian’s agent about a possible move to Old Trafford, according to France Football.

The Brazilian’s current contract expires at the end of June and the French magazine claims that “contacts have been established” between the player and the Red Devils.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are all reportedly keeping tabs on Willian’s situation with the 31-year-old all set to leave Stamford Bridge after being left unhappy with the contract offer proposed by the Blues.

The Brazilian is looking for a three-year deal, while Chelsea are only prepared to offer a two-year extension due to his age. He will turn 32 in August.

There has been talk that Willian could sign a short-term extension until the end of the Premier League season but there has been no agreement reached with the player.

It is unlikely that will stop a move to United from going ahead, though, with the Manchester club likely keen to add some experience to their forward line ahead of next season.
