Compare United’s Big Money New Boys To City’s Big Money Signings

Check out the infographic below from our friends at FootballFanager.com where the big money new signings made by both Manchester clubs are compared in terms of value for money.

A quick look at the chart reveals that French starlet Anthony Martial is delivering the most bang for the buck at £7.2million per goal just slightly better value than his team-mate Memphis whose goals are costing £7.75million per goal but crucially both players are providing better value than Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne from City at this early stage of the season. However, Memphis leads his French team-mate in the assist category by a count of three to one.

Another area where Memphis is ahead of Martial is in shirt sales, as the Dutchman’s shirts have proved a huge hit amongst fans as he is third in shirt sales only to Messi and Ronaldo. Obviously Memphis has had much more time to sell shirts as he was signed at the end of the last season whereas Martial was signed on deadline day. Interestingly Bastien Schweinsteiger is in 4th place ahead of Eden Hazard in 5th and Wayne Rooney in 6th. You can see the entire shirt sales list here, where United lead with four players in the top ten.

Let’s hope these statistics lead to a win in the most important area – the Manchester Derby.
