Club’s Vice President In ‘Negotiations’ With United Star As They Look To Tie Up Summer Switch ‘As Soon As Possible’

Boca Juniors are interested in signing Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani ahead of next season, according to ESPN Uruguay.

The website claims that the vice president of the Argentinian club, Juan Roman Riquelme, has been in “negotiations” with the player about a switch in the summer.

Cavani has stated in the past that he would like to play for Boca Juniors and ESPN report that they are keen to tie up a deal for the 34-year-old “as soon as possible.” However, the Uruguayan has still not made a final decision on his future.

United do have an option to extend his stay at Old Trafford for a further year and the Red Devils have told the player that they would be keen on keeping him.

Whether Cavani will be persuaded to stay or he decides to make the move to Argentina, we shall have to wait and see. He has had a good first season with United, having scored seven goals in 25 appearances.
