Club President Reveals “Multiple Offers” Have Been Made For United Target

Lille president Gerard Lopez has claimed that he has already received numerous bids for striker Victor Osimhen this summer.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with the Nigerian international in recent months, and Lopez revealed he did receive a proposal from a Premier League team in January:

“There are multiple offers. We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window. There is a wide array [this summer] and I wouldn’t want to give the names of the clubs who are bidding but what I can tell you is that there are multiple [offers].”

“There are three championships that have clubs that have bid for him.”

Osimhen was only signed from Charleroi for £10m in August last year, but after scoring 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille, he has attracted a lot of interest from other teams.

Whether United would be at the forefront of that list, it is up for debate. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need a replacement for Odion Ighalo if the 30-year-old returns to China.

Osimhen would be an interesting candidate due to the fact that he does have the pace to start from wide positions as well as through the middle, which would make him a perfect fit for the Red Devils’ front three.

At 21 years of age, he is still young as well, but it’s likely that United will only consider him if their move for Jadon Sancho falters.
