Club CEO Confirms United And La Liga Giants Are Involved In Battle To Secure £44.5m Rated Midfield Maestro

Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar has revealed that Manchester United and Real Madrid are both keen on signing Donny van de Beek.

Reports in the Dutch media over the weekend had claimed that the Red Devils were trying to hijack the Dutchman’s potential switch to the Bernabeu, and van der Sar has now confirmed the story:

“It’s clear that clubs like Real Madrid and are Manchester United are showing interest in Donny van de Beek.”

It is believed that van de Beek will cost at least €50m (£44.5m) were he to be sold when the transfer window reopens.

Real were the favourites to land him but the financial impact of the global health crisis means they have a funding gap, which United could look to exploit.

Van de Beek would certainly add even more goals and creativity to United’s midfield, having scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 37 appearances for Ajax this season.

The prospect of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and the Dutchman playing in the same midfield would certainly cause some sleepless nights for opposing defences.
