Chelsea are expected to rival Manchester United for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, according to The Sun journalist Daniel Cutts.

The reporter claims that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is a “huge fan” of the England international and the London club are now expected to “launch” an “£80m bid” for the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

United have remained frontrunners for Sancho, despite negotiations breaking down last summer, with the Red Devils refusing to pay Dortmund’s €120m asking price.

That figure has come down significantly since then with reports in the German media suggesting that the winger could well be offloaded for around €85m to €90m.

It was said that United had already been in discussions with Sancho’s agent about the potential move, but Chelsea’s involvement could well complicate matters.

The Sun claim that the player is keen on a move back to the Premier League, and the fact that he is apparently a boyhood Blues fan may swing things in the London club’s favour.
