Chelsea Ace Poised For Summer Exit Just Weeks After Injury Scuppered Chances Of United Move

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, according to ESPN.

The website claim that both Manchester United and Newcastle were “sounded out” about making an offer for the American international during the January transfer window.

However, the knee injury that Pulisic suffered against Manchester City in the 1-0 defeat early last month ended any hopes of a potential transfer going ahead.

The 24-year-old is expected to be back available at some point in March so there should be no concerns about his fitness if the Red Devils do decide to revive their interest in the player next summer.

Whether manager Erik ten Hag will seriously consider a move for Pulisic, though, it is up for debate. The Dutchman is keen on bringing in a forward but he is believed to be targeting a number nine.

United already have plenty of wingers, including Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Antony in the first-team squad so it is hard to know where Pulisic would fit into things.
