Manchester United are the club with the second best record in the FA Cup (currently known as the Emirates FA Cup) with 11 wins and in fact are only one win behind their arch rivals Arsenal in terms of overall success in the competition as after the Gunnners won the Cup in 2015 it gave them 12 wins overall. United have the chance to tie Arsenal this year with a win but Arsene Wenger’s side are still in the competition as they face Hull City at the KC Stadium in a 5th round replay to be played tonight. Chelsea are also still in the Cup along with a number of other top flight sides like Watford, Everton and Crystal Palace so it will be not be easy for the Reds no matter who they face.
United face a tough match vs West Ham United at home in the 6th round on Sunday 13th of March 2016 at 4pm whereas Arsenal will play Watford if they can get past Championship high-fliers Hull City also at home on Sunday 13th of March 2016 at 1.30pm. United’s game will be shown on BT Sport as will the Arsenal matches.
Louis van Gaal will likely put out as a strong a side as possible to face the Hammers as he will be looking to put down a marker and do a number on West Ham who are currently sitting in 5th in the Premier League 2 points ahead of 6th placed United in the chase for 4th position and Champions League qualification. United are still suffering from a number of injuries and will now miss Juan Mata for 3 games due to the suspension he incurred after getting sent off vs West Brom on Sunday and the in-form Spaniard will certainly be missed. Hopefully, Marcus Rashford can continue his extraordinary goal-scoring exploits and lead United to victory.
