Cavani And De Gea To Start, Greenwood On The Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Face Roma

After an unexpected week off, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unlikely to change the team that won 6-2 at home against Roma in the first leg.

That means David De Gea will start in goal ahead of Dean Henderson, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw selected in the two fullback positions. Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire are likely to be the centre-back pairing once more.

In midfield, Fred and Scott McTominay will hold the fought as the two defensive midfielders, giving Bruno Fernandes the freedom to play in the number 10 role.

Paul Pogba has thrived whilst playing from the left-hand side so he is expected to keep his place. There may be some debate about whether Mason Greenwood deserves to be selected ahead of Marcus Rashford after his goal in the first leg but Solskjaer may keep him in reserve once again as an impact sub. Following his brace at Old Trafford, Edinson Cavani is almost certain to lead the line.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Play Roma:

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, Fernandes, McTominay, Rashford, Cavani, Pogba
