Casemiro To Start, McTominay Out: United’s Predicted XI To Play Southampton

After the confidence-boosting win against Liverpool on Monday night, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be hoping his team can back it up by getting another three points versus Southampton this weekend.

There are unlikely to be any changes to the backline for the trip to St Mary’s, which means David De Gea is expected to start in goal, with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as the two centre-halves. Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia will also keep their places.

Despite having only one or two training sessions with his new teammates, Casemiro may get the nod to start ahead of Scott McTominay. Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes will make up the rest of the midfield.

After it was confirmed that Anthony Martial has suffered yet another injury, it is likely that Marcus Rashford will lead the line once again, with Anthony Elanga on the left flank and Jadon Sancho staying on the right wing.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton:

De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fernandes, Sancho, Rashford, Elanga
