Carlos Vinicius Has ‘Sparked The Interest’ Of United As Reports Of £35m Approach Surface

Manchester United are keen on signing Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius, according to Record. The Portuguese newspaper claims the Brazilian has “sparked the interest” of the Red Devils following his performances this season.

The 25-year-old moved from Napoli for €17m in the summer, and he has gone on to score 20 goals and contribute 12 assists in 36 appearances for Benfica.

Vinicius has had a decent scoring record during his professional career, although he was somewhat of a late bloomer, having only moved to Europe from Brazil in 2017.

He did also struggle during a loan spell with Monaco in the second half of last season, scoring just twice, but he was only given three league starts.

In addition to the Record‘s reporting, other reports in Spain and Italy have indicated that United have already tabled a €40m (£35m) offer for Vinicius, although those claims have not been substantiated by more credible sources in Portugal.
