With the show piece Manchester Derby happening at Old Trafford on Sunday at 2pm, Louis Van Gaal will be looking for a victory which would put the Reds top of the table above their City neighbours. Van Gaal looks to have a full squad to choose from (except for the long-term leg break to the unfotunate Luke Shaw) and it will be interesting to see if he restores Memphis to the starting line-up after the Dutchman was used off the bench in the Champions League vs CSKA Moscow. After two impressive performances Jesse Lingard could well retain his place as LVG looks like he has been convinced by the youngster and he usually keeps faith when a player delivers the goods for him.

As reported in the Daily Star City face a number of selection issues on top of the already questionable status of Captain Vincent Kompany. When asked about the situation in his squad, Pellegrini said: “David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Fabian Delph & Gael Clichy will miss the derby. Maybe next week one or two of them can start working with the team.” So City have some pretty big holes to fill particularly when it comes to Sergio Aguero and their usual creative force David Silva. There is some talk of Kevin De Bruyne starting upfront and the Belgian has already shown he can handle the rigours of the Premier League but surely Wilfred Bony will get the nod with De Bruyne being asked to fill Silva’s role.

Hopefully, United will get off to a fast start something that has not happened often this season and the likes of Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Martial will enjoy their first taste of the Manchester Derby.
