Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Tahith Chong, James Garner and Angel Gomes will be included in the matchday squad for the game against Crystal Palace.
The Red Devils are currently going through an injury crisis with ten players currently on the treatment table. It has given some youngsters an opportunity to shine and Solskjaer is confident the young trio will be up to the task:
“The kids are joining in today. They’ll be involved in the squad. They’ve been part of our training for a long time.”
“Angel has been in that successful team with England U17s, the [born in] 2000 team with [Jadon] Sancho, [Callum] Hudson-Odoi and that [Phil] Foden and, he’s been a big part of that Angel has definitely shown he’ll do well.”
“James Garner is a Michael Carrick, but 20 years younger, so I’m sure he’ll do well. And Chongy will definitely be taking people on if he comes on.”
Supporters on Twitter are hopeful that the starlets will get their chance tomorrow night at Selhurst Park:

A few fans, though, were warning others not to get their hopes up:
To everyone getting their hopes up: Ole says “if” and that’s a big if. No need to slant the manager when they don’t play ??

He’s said ‘if’ they get on… if they don’t start, that’s on them. Ole’s put them in the squad, they need to out perform the others in training now if they want minutes. It’s in their hands…

Solskjaer has already shown he is prepared to give youth a chance, with Chong having been given his senior debut off the bench in the FA Cup win against Reading.
However, a trip to Palace to face a team who have beaten Manchester City this season is a different situation entirely. We’ll have to wait and see if the trio make their mark on the game.
