Manchester United will announce the signing of Juventus defender Alex Sandro after the FA Cup final this weekend, according to reports.
The Red Devils take on Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday afternoon as Jose Mourinho’s side look to sign off the season with a piece of silverware.
Mourinho is keen to bolster his side ahead of next season in order to amount a challenge for the Premier League title – with his top priority thought to be reinforce his defence.
And The Times report the Portuguese is wasting no time in making new additions, with Alex Sandro to be unveiled as a United player as soon as this weekend.
The Brazilian is understood to have agreed a £50 million deal to take him to United, snubbing a move to rivals Chelsea in order to complete a switch to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian has been a long-term target for United, who have been without a first-choice left back this season.
Ashley Young assumed the role for much of the campaign, and while he received many plaudits for his performances throughout the year, the Englishman has only one year left on his contract at Old Trafford.
The club’s other options in what has become a problem position are Luke Shaw and Daley Blind – both of whom are expected to leave the club this summer.
A good first addition of the summer? The United fans seem to think so …
