Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez’s recent displays have already begun to win around plenty of those who criticised the Argentine at the start of the season.
The centre-back struggled in the opening two matches against Brighton and Brentford, but he has looked a lot more composed since then, building a solid partnership with Raphael Varane.
In the last four games, where United have faced the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, Martinez has helped to keep two clean sheets, with his side also only conceding two goals. Fans on Twitter are delighted with how the Β£56.7m summer signing has begun to settle in at Old Trafford:

Martinez will solidify himself as a top premier league centre back over the next coming seasons, due to his aggression, ball control and awareness

Many new centre backs would have struggled for form after a couple of bad games, but Martinez responded by sticking his chest out and showing what he's made of. Shows you the character of the player….love him already

Some have focused their criticism on Martinez’s height. There is no doubt that he will struggle against certain forwards due to the fact that he is only 5ft 9 but his tackling, aggression and positioning more than make up for that.
Of course, it’s wise not to go overboard with the praise this early in the campaign but he is certainly showing plenty of promising signs.
