Borussia Dortmund Star Provides An Update On Sancho’s Mood Amid United Transfer Speculation

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki has claimed that Jadon Sancho has been his normal self since returning to pre-season training despite the speculation surrounding his future.

Manchester United are still said to be keen on snapping up the 20-year-old, despite Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc having declared last week that the player would be staying this summer.

Asked whether he had noticed any changes in Sancho’s attitude or demeanour, Burki said that the England international had not put a foot wrong, and was not sulking about a possible move to Old Trafford falling through:

“I don’t believe Jadon is sad that he will continue with Borussia Dortmund. He comes to training with a smile on his face and is happy to be with us. Jadon is still a top player next year. Time is not running out for him. Besides, he has developed as a personality.”

“I am not aware of any current events that give cause for criticism. Jadon hasn’t done anything wrong in two and a half weeks of pre-season so far.”

It was hoped that Sancho would look to force through a move away from the Bundesliga club in order for a compromise to be reached on the transfer fee.

Dortmund have stuck steadfastly to their €120m (£108m) valuation of the player, but United have so far refused to pay the figure, being mindful of their finances amid a global health crisis.
