Manchester United centre-back Phil Jones is garnering interest from Italian clubs, according to reports in the English media.
The 28-year-old has rarely featured during Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s first full season in charge at Old Trafford and the defender has not played since the restart due to a knee injury.
Jones only signed a new four-year contract back in February last year, and it is believed that there are only a few teams who could afford his wages. Fans on Twitter are keeping their fingers crossed that there is one team in Italy who will make a move for him:

After nine years with United, it does appears Jones’ time at the club is coming to an end. The likes of Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe are all ahead of him in the pecking order, while his injury problems mean he is rarely available when needed.
Over the past decade, he has played just 224 times for the Red Devils and if he does depart, his time at the club will not be remembered with a great deal of fondness.
