Best Left Wingers In The Premier League This Season

The Premier League has contained some of the greatest left-wingers of all time over the years – Ryan Giggs, Robert Pires and Cristiano Ronaldo are but a few of them. Who are the best left-wing players in the Premier League today?

We will only be looking at wide men who play primarily on the left-wing – if they play on the right more often, they will not be considered for this list.

We have already covered the best right-wingers in the Premier League – check out our list to see who took the top spot.

Kaoru Mitoma

Kaoru Mitoma is one of the best pure dribblers in the world at this current moment. He doesn’t need fancy flicks or skills – his ball control and composure are more than enough to beat almost any fullback.

Mitoma has burst onto the scene at Brighton this season. So far, he has scored seven goals and has notched up five assists in 24 Premier League appearances.

He had a poor game by his standards at the weekend against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final – but one performance cannot possibly tell the whole story.

Phil Foden

Phil Foden is one of the most naturally gifted footballers on the planet right now. He initially drew comparisons to Paul Gascoigne when he began his career, but has since found a home on the left flank.

He is an extremely tidy dribbler and loves nothing more than taking players on – his desire to move forward with the ball makes him a very difficult player to defend against.

Foden is an adept goalscorer, as well as being a serviceable creator. Thus far, he has scored nine goals in the Premier League this season, alongside four assists.

Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli has become a real superstar at Arsenal this season. The Brazilian wonderkid has always looked like a promising prospect – now, he is delivering on his potential.

A skilful dribbler with excellent movement off the ball, Martinelli is a complete winger – which is pretty scary when you consider that he is just 21.

In the current campaign, Martinelli has scored 15 Premier League goals, as well as registering five assists, across the span of 32 games.

Marcus Rashford

Choosing between Martinelli and Marcus Rashford was very difficult – nevertheless, we think the Manchester-born boy just takes the cake.

The current season has been a pivotal one for Rashford. After an underwhelming campaign last year, he has shown the world what he can do once again. His movement, skills on the ball and eye for goal are all simply incredible.

So far, Rashford has scored 15 goals and has racked up four assists in 29 Premier League games. Additionally, he also scored six goals in nine Europa League games.
