Belgian Star Tipped To Make £25m Summer Move To United

Manchester United will make a move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld in the summer, according to the Sun.

Spurs triggered their option to extend the Belgian’s contract for a further year but in the process activated a release clause which means he can leave the London club for just £25m.

United were reportedly interested in Alderweireld last summer, only to be put off by the asking price that Spurs demanded for the centre-back.

The 30-year-old has been a regular this season, having started 40 of the 41 games he has played in for his club.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be keen to strengthen the backline in the summer, with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Matthijs de Ligt and Milan Skriniar all having been linked.

However, it seems as if the Red Devils will opt for a cheaper option but Alderweireld’s experience of the Premier League will likely make him a shrewd purchase.
