“Been Massive for Manchester United…” Andy Cole Names His Player Of The Season

Manchester United legend Andy Cole believes Marcus Rashford deserves to be the club’s player of the season.

The 25-year-old has racked up 29 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils this campaign and Cole told Stretty News that is the reason why the forward gets his vote:

“I’d go with Marcus [Rashford]. I know Luke Shaw has done extremely well but without Rashford’s goals we wouldn’t find ourselves in the position we find ourselves in. I think his goals have been massive for Manchester United this season. I think we’ve lacked goals all season but I think it has to be Marcus for the way he’s come back.”

There are plenty of other candidates than the two that Cole mentions. Casemiro has been an integral figure since joining United from Real Madrid last summer.

His contributions have been huge in lifting the Carabao Cup, getting to the FA Cup final and all but securing a top-four finish.

Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes have also had important roles in ensuring Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge has been a successful one.

Rashford’s Future At United Remains Up In The Air

The forward only has twelve months left on his contract at Old Trafford and there has been no indication that he is close to extending his stay at the club.

Ten Hag says he knows the reason why Rashford hasn’t signed on the dotted line but he has been reluctant to go into the details. Some reports suggest that the player is waiting for the ownership situation to be resolved before making a final decision.
