BBC Pundit Names Two United Stars, As Well As Arsenal And Chelsea Players, In His Team Of The Week

Bruno Fernandes is one of the Premier League's most creative midfielders.

Garth Crooks has selected Manchester United pair Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez in his ‘Team of the Week’.

The BBC pundit was particularly complimentary about Fernandes, who scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Fulham in the FA Cup quarter final at the weekend:

“Fernandes appears to have put that Anfield debacle well behind him and is back on track. His converted penalty was crisp, and his second goal, which put the tie well beyond Fulham, emphatic.”

Fernandes has certainly responded well to recent criticism and he will be keen to maintain his current form when club football resumes after the international break.

In terms of the other nine players that Crooks included in his eleven. Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez was named in goal, with his teammate Tyrone Mings picked in a three-man defence, alongside Arsenal’s Ben White and Martinez.

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse was selected in midfield with Chelsea’s Joao Felix, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and Fernandes.

Crooks opted for three up front. Manchester City’s hat-trick hero Erling Haaland was listed along with Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
