Bayern Munich And Juventus Set To Rival United For Serbian International Defender

Bayern Munich and Juventus have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to reports in Italy.

Manager Jose Mourinho watched the 21-year-old in action for Serbia when they faced Montenegro last month, with the centre-back believed to be a January transfer target.

However, it seems the Bundesliga and Serie A champions have also contacted Milenkovic’s agent to register their interest in him.

The Serbian international has had a rapid rise to prominence. He was playing for Partizan Belgrade just two years ago and was mainly used as a substitute during the first half of last season at Fiorentina.

Since breaking into the Viola’s first team at the beginning of February, Milenkovic has won many admirers. He was named in Serbia’s World Cup squad and played in all three of their group matches at the tournament.

He is now a regular for both club and country, and despite his relatively young age, he is being pursued by three of the biggest clubs in Europe. Whether United will make their move in January, we will have to wait and see.
