Barcelona Hoping Brazilian Star Follows In Raphinha’s Footsteps As They Try To See Off United And Newcastle

Barcelona are hoping that Monaco right-back Vanderson will snub interest from Manchester United and Newcastle and hold out for a move to the La Liga club, according to reports in Spain.

It is believed that the Red Devils have already made an enquiry about the Brazilian’s asking price and there is a possibility that Erik ten Hag’s side could make an approach during the January transfer window.

The Manchester club are said to be keen on strengthening their options on the right-hand side of defence, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka deemed surplus to requirements, and it appears Vanderson is one of their main targets.

However, Barca would like the defender to delay his decision until next summer when they will have the funds to buy him. They are counting on the player following Raphinha’s example.

The winger was pursued by the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, but he held out for a switch to the Camp Nou. It remains to be seen whether Vanderson will make the same decision.
