Bailly, Rashford, Fernandes And Van De Beek To Start, Fred Out: United’s Predicted XI To Face Chelsea

Manchester United caretaker manager Michael Carrick has basically got a free hit heading into the clash against Chelsea tomorrow evening.

With Ralf Rangnick set to take over at the start of next week, he knows this is his last match in charge so we should expect some pretty bold selection choices.

David De Gea will start in goal, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles expected to keep their places in the two fullback positions. Captain Harry Maguire’s suspension means Eric Bailly will come back into the starting lineup, partnering Victor Lindelof in the centre of defence.

Fred is a major doubt due to an ankle problem and, while Nemanja Matic would be the logical choice to partner Scott McTominay, Carrick was extolling Donny van de Beek’s ability to play multiple positions in his press conference yesterday.

The Dutchman could, therefore, be asked to play a deeper role, with Bruno Fernandes playing ahead of him as the number 10.

Anthony Martial failed to take his chance versus Villarreal so Marcus Rashford could be recalled, with Cristiano Ronaldo lining up as the centre-forward and Jadon Sancho playing off the right flank.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Play Chelsea:

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Lindelof, Telles, McTominay, Fernandes, van de Beek, Sancho, Ronaldo, Rashford
