Bailly And Greenwood To Start, McTominay Out: United’s Predicted XI To Play Southampton

Manchester United host Southampton at Old Trafford this evening knowing a win is vital if they are going to keep the pressure up on Manchester City at the top of the table.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may start Eric Bailly ahead of Victor Lindelof in the centre of defence alongside Harry Maguire. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are expected to line up in the fullback positions.

In midfield, Scott McTominay suffered from stomach cramps against Arsenal, and the Scottish international may only be selected for the bench tonight. His absence may see a change in shape with Paul Pogba sitting deeper with Fred, and Bruno Fernandes playing ahead of the pair.

Up front, Mason Greenwood could be recalled to increase United’s goal threat. The 19-year-old could play off the right flank, with Edinson Cavani through the middle and Marcus Rashford on the left.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton:

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, Fernandes, Pogba, Greenwood, Cavani, Rashford
